SUBSTRUCTURE:
Frames consist of a 12” box truss design with side panels of 1 ½” x 1 ½” x 3/16” angle for the top & bottom cords and 1 ½” x 1 ½” x 3/16” angle diagonals. Heavier sections are available.

Cross trusses are located every 4’ with a diagonal between each truss on the bottom of the section. 3” x 3” x 3/16” angle corner members are used where sections are joined together with grade 8 bolts. COMPONENTS are hot dipped galvanized after welding.

CONSTRUCTION METHOD:
Finger sections are positioned between head pier sections creating a pre-engineered reinforced crosswalk connection. This is much stronger than directly bolting each finger section to the head pier as many builders do. Each section is fabricated as an individual member then hot-dip galvanized. We also utilize underwater bracing as required for additional support. Wind bracing is also used for taller roof systems.

FLOTATION:
Floatation is roto-molded polyethylene shells filled with expanded polystyrene. Size and spacing of floats shall be determined by design load specifications.

DECKING CHOICE:

  • Treated lumber: 2”x6” cross decked and screwed to treated 2”x4” sills tech screwed to sub-frames.
  • Composite: Choice Dek and other popular brands, installed directly to subframe. Many dock manufacturers use treated lumber runners to simplify the installation of the composite material. We tech screw composite decking to frames at recommended intervals by the manufacturer, to increase the life of the deck.
  • Concrete tiles: available per customer specification. We have many choices of concrete, ranging from a plain concrete to an natural looking aggregrate, painted surfaces, and even a tile with a marble look and feel.

ROOF STRUCTURE:
Vertical columns constructed of 2 ½” sq. tubing bolted to the frame with cross trusses in the substructure between each pair at their base.

Purlins are 2 1/2 or 3 ½” x 8” galvanized 14 ga. “Z” with a maximum spacing of 10’. Heavier columns and purlins are used as required for larger slips and docks.

Roofing panels to be 26-ga. "R-Panel" attached to purlins with gasketed, self-tapping hex head roofing screws. Seams are reinforced with stitching screws.

Wind bracing on superstructure is used as determined in the engineering process on a per job basis.

Many choices of roofing are available with a veriety of colors. Pitch, rib pattern, and gauge are determined to match your job's requirements.

Center yoke systems, hip roofs and gable roofs are available.

 

 

 

ANCHORING:
Anchoring typically consists of galvanized winches attached to corner mounted winch towers.

Winches are spooled with 1/2" or 5/8" galvanized aircraft cables, which terminate at concrete sea anchors outboard and shore anchors on land.

On large slips (houseboat & cruiser) or larger dock applications, we pour 9,000 lb. anchors onsite

Also used are telescoping pipe anchors or single pipe spuds. Anchor design is determined by site conditions.


GANGWAY & BRIDGES:
Gangway's have handrails on both sides.

The Signature series features 3” square tubing handrails trussed with 1 ½” square tubing.

The Standard series features 2” x 3/16” angle handrails trussed with 1 ½” x 3/16” angle.

We also build free span bridges and other custom designs to fit your marina situation.

Floating Walkway:
We can build floating walkways for connecting docks in a variety of styles and sizes.

 

OPTIONS:
Vinyl edging, bumpers, cleats, and trussed corner sections.
